"OUH OUH," as I affectionately called you, we have reached the end of our life as a couple. You always thought you would live a long life, perhaps even reach 100 years, but you forgot that various ailments would overcome you. I give glory to God for having protected you until May 2024.

We spent good times together in peace and found solutions to our different disputes. You always loved having me by your side. You were happy when we were together. But now you have left this world without your Friend, your Other Half, your Wife, your Confidant. God's work is unfathomable. Go in the peace of our Lord Jesus Christ, whom we served together. I will continue to carry out, as much as I can, the projects we started."

Mama Henriette
The one you always loved, your dear Wife.

Daddy, The First Love of My Life!
My heart shattered when I got the news that God granted you eternal healing and called you to be with Him. I wasn’t ready for this; I had so many plans to do with you, but God has the final word. It hurts, but I know I have gained an angel.
I will miss you calling me “Ma mère Chérie” and seeing your smile during our video calls.
At every step of the way, you have always been there for me, knowing how to lift me up, guide me, believe in me, and always push me to be the best version of myself. You taught me that education is key to go further in life. From you, I learnt values such as rigor, humility, attention to details, importance of quality in every task, a strong work ethic, a sense of family, love, and living peacefully with others. You showed me that anyone can impact the community at their level.
You are a legend, and your legacy will live forever!
You have shaped the woman I am today, and I bless God for the time he allowed us to have you with us.

Nelie
Your proud and loving daughter, Nelie. Love you forever, Dad ❤

On Tuesday, May 28, 2024, a dark cloud descended upon the NJOPWOUO family. The grace and peace of the Lord took Daddy with him. We are speechless. Having known the Lord Jesus Christ, you accepted to serve him tirelessly until the end of your days. My dear Dad, you who affectionately called me "Gootié," I will miss you. You have gone to rest with the Lord. I thank him for keeping you and protecting you now and forever. May this wonderful God reserve a special place for you with him, in the sweetness of his presence. No more suffering, no more pain, no more tears. That is my consolation. And I will say like Job: "Blessed be the name of the Lord."

Laure
Your mother-in-law, your daughter Laure who will always love you

Dad, you leave me with a wounded and grieving heart. I had so many plans to share with you, but alas, death has taken you from us. I remember you as a unifying, serious, generous, and patient father. You always sought peace around you. You instilled these values in me, and I am so proud to have them as my heritage. You always worried about others because everyone else came before you; this was what defined you. Father, your absence is painful, but I know your soul is at peace.

DAD, TO YOU THE FLOWERS, TO US THE TEARS!

Adrien
Your eldest son, Adrien

My dad, my best friend, why are you leaving us so soon? We still needed you. Through you, we learned integrity, hard work, humility, and truth. And the list goes on. You were always ready to help and serve others; you were always quick to reward me after a service rendered, even though you have done so much for me. The pain is immense, I am suffering so much from your departure, how can I ever repay you, DAD? Your life has ended, but your memory remains. Your family thinks of you. Rest in peace in the Lord's grace. Amen!

Amen!

Roland
Your son Roland

Dear Dad, you affectionately called me "Mami Ngotié”, grandma. You were a great fighter, in your profession, in your home, and especially during your bad days due to the multiple comorbidities that created a vicious cycle. Yes, Dad, you never gave up, always ready to fight with God leading the way. Like the Apostle Paul, I can say: Now the crown of righteousness is reserved for you. What I remember most from your earthly life is your diligence at work, love of God, love for others, always seeking peace, unity, and excellence in work. Dear Dad, you will forever be etched in my memory and in my heart. You are now resting in the peace of Jesus Christ.

Maryline
Your beloved daughter Maryline.

Dear Dad, your departure leaves me speechless. When I called you on April 28, you told me that the Lord was answering our prayers and that you were doing well. On May 25, when Mom informed me that you were hospitalized, I could not imagine that the separation was near. Until the Lord called you back on May 28, 2024, I always hoped I would hear you call me "my dear mother" again, but the Lord is sovereign in His ways. Dad, I thank you for the precious heritage you gave me by investing in my education, and I bless the Lord for using you to make me the woman I am today. Wise, respectful, humble, peaceful, unifying, intelligent, full of love, always there for others, go and rest in peace with the Father. I love you, Dad.

Jolande 2
Your daughter, Jolande.

My dear dad, it is with immense pain that I fill this page! I cannot enumerate the wonders you have done in my life. Wisdom, bravery, patience, honor, humility, and love are the qualities you possessed! I wish I could have told you how much I loved you before you left us, but alas! If there were a superlative for the word "miss," it would be destined for you! I miss you tremendously, dad! The more time passes, the more I realize that you were a monument to us. My dear dad, these tears I shed are insignificant compared to the immense man you were! I am certain that you are with our Creator and that you will continue to watch over me, for you were already an angel among men! Thank you infinitely, dad, for everything you have done in my life. Know that I will love you forever, my angel!

Syntishia
Your loving daughter, Syntishia

Dear Grandpa, more than just a grandfather, you have been the father to many of your grandchildren over the past years. You remained committed to family unity. As we reach the twilight of your earthly life, your existence stands as a vibrant tribute to true love. A hardworking individual, you showed us that one could climb all the ranks and reach the top by staying honest and perseverant. Grandpa, if we had to choose, we would always choose you as our grandfather. Certainly, the separation is painful and sad, but it does not stop the love shared between us. Now that you are among the celestial beings, you will continue to be our shield and guardian angel. You will forever be a model for all your descendants and for everyone who had the chance and the distinguished honor to know you.

Rest in peace, dear Grandpa.

Dany
Your Grandson, Danny.

Grandpa Daniel, you were always kind, you knew how to encourage us when we had good results, by giving us gifts and saying: "That's good! Keep working like that." Grandpa, you taught us to love others. Grandpa, you often played with my little brother Sami. My little brothers and I loved going to Yaoundé during the holidays to greet the whole family. When we arrived, you were happy to see us, and so were we. Grandpa, rest well from your labors, with Jesus Christ our Lord.

Merveille
Your beloved granddaughter, Merveille

I love you, Grandpa. I would have loved to see you during the next holidays. But you are watching over me from heaven right now and you will see my children. May God welcome you to His side with kindness.

Grace Divine 2
Your granddaughter, Grâce-Divine.

Dad, thank you for all the love you had for me. You taught me to be patient and to persevere in prayer in all circumstances. Your humility and generosity were boundless, as were your valuable advice and encouragement. I hold beautiful memories of you that will forever remain etched in my mind. Dad, you know everything! May your soul rest in peace.

Celine
Your daughter-in-law, Céline.

Since that Tuesday night on May 28, our household has been devastated by the tragic loss. Papa Daniel was hospitalized for about a week, but we didn’t see his death coming. We were hoping and praying for his complete healing. Obviously, God had other plans and decided to call him, shortening his suffering.

I have fond memories of my father-in-law. I was so eager to have him visit us. He was the kind to always put others before himself. I will always remember those conversations when I was pushing to take some breaks. He was a workaholic, always striving for excellence.

Papa Daniel is no longer with us in body, but his spirit will live on in our memories forever. More importantly, we’ll make sure his legacy of rigor, strong ethics, and community outreach remains alive among us.

Rest in Peace, Papa Daniel!

Christian
Christian, your son-in-law.

Papa Daniel, you used to call me Jos. We shared very good times since our first meeting. I never saw you angry, a testament to your great self-control, likely stemming from your Christian convictions. You were a father to me, always seeking to contribute to my well-being. Now that illness has taken you, my prayer is that God grants His graces to your soul in heavenly bliss.

Josue
Josué, your son-in-law.

Dad, your departure leaves my heart in pain. I first knew you as a chemistry teacher. I was struck by your simplicity, humility, integrity, and dedication to your work. You refused to take shortcuts through politics to gain promotion. Your hard work and patience eventually led you to the deanship of the Faculty of Sciences. I never imagined having a place as your son.

Then I fell in love with your daughter and came to know you as my dad and the father of many children under the sky. I discovered your love, tenderness, and your desire to see others succeed in life. Your departure is a great loss for us. But at this moment, God loves you more than we do. Have a good journey, Dad.

Justin, your son-in-law.

My life advisor. Your valuable life lessons have guided me and will continue to light my path. Rest in peace, Dad, and may our ancestors welcome you into eternal fullness.

My testimony is about the last lesson that Dad taught me. He showed me what it means to believe and to entrust everything to God. During my nights of watching over him, Dad was particularly restless. One of the things I used to calm him was praise songs. "Jonathan C. Gambella- Onction" seemed to soothe him the most. He even tried to sing along. Also, on other days, even on the day of his passing, I held his hands to reassure him while praying, and he would always pause and respond with "Amen" when he heard me! Rest in peace, Papa Daniel... You were a library until the very end.

Dad, you were more than a father. You were a guide, a friend, and an inexhaustible source of wisdom. Your wise advice and your ability to find solutions to all our problems will remain etched in our hearts. Your strength and integrity were examples for us. You showed us that love and family are the pillars upon which a fulfilling life rests. Every memory with you is a treasure we will cherish forever.

Your generosity of spirit and unconditional love have helped us become the people we are today. Your spirit continues to live through us. We will carry your legacy with pride and strive to honor your teachings.

Thank you, dear father. We miss you immensely. Your light will never fade from our hearts. With all our love!!

Flaubert Kouamou
The one you called your mother, Kwamou Flaubert.

Tiédjà Daniel, it has been a little over a year since we truly grew closer thanks to the Mieukouamou meeting that was revived in April 2023. You took it a step further by proposing internal regulations and the creation of a mutual aid society, which we have not yet finished reviewing in its sections and articles. You were an example of excellence and bravery, a living encyclopedia. Although we were brothers, you were quite reserved; but you became much more open after we grew closer. It was a terrible shock when, at 11:55 PM on May 28, the announcement of your death came. Your departure leaves a great void in the Mieu kouamou family. May your soul rest in peace!

Scarron
Your brother, Scarron.

Dear brother-in-law, Dear god-father, Dear friend, your departure has left a huge gap in the family. Dear big brother, you’ve been for us a model in all important aspects of life. I would name among others your simplicity, your humility, your gentleness and your passion for work. Just everything we need to make our world a better place. We shall keep pleasant memories of you and above all the joy of having shared great and unforgettable moments in life with you.

Rest in Peace Sir.

Louis Bernard
Your Brother-in-law, Louis Bernard.

Dear Tiedja, you’ve transitioned as though we were ready to accept it. You forgot about Henriette your wife. We shall remember your patience, your respect, your politeness and the softness of your voice. Dear Tiedja, from where you’ve gone, I urge you to keep my sister Za Henriette company. You’ve always been a source of motivation in her life. May the Lord welcome you in his presence and may your soul rest in peace.

Ma Yvonne
Your Sister-in-Law, Yvonne.

Teidjabou, my great husband, it’s with a lot of pain that I write these words. I still remember as if it were yesterday, of my adoption in your family, following the great friendship which existed between you and Mrs Madeleine. Unfortunately, today I am helpless. I’m grateful to God for the privilege to know such a humble, calm and meticulous man. Regretfully, death had the best of you. To you the flowers, and to us the tears.

May the almighty place you next to him, wherever he keeps righteous men, in the heavenly kingdom.

Mama Brigitte
Your Sister-in-Law, Brigitte.

Dear Dad, your departure has left a huge gap in our hearts. During my 3 years tenure at your house, you played the role of a big brother. Your kindness, support and wisdom helped build the woman I am today. Your memory shall forever be engraved in my heart. I’m grateful for all you have done. Rest in peace dear dad. With all my regards and affection,

Marceline
Your Sister-in-Law, Marceline.

Tributes to Professor Emeritus, Academician NJOPWOUO Daniel

Dear Godfather, Dear Academician,

Our collaboration since 1991 has transformed into a brotherhood. Each of us had a role: I was responsible for mapping and characterizing mineral materials, and your team focused on their industrial applications (ceramics, paint, pharmacology, agro-food, cosmetics…). In 2001, we established a scholarly society, the 'Cameroonian Clay Group,' and undertook several research projects funded by national and international organizations. Dozens of articles have been published, and numerous Doctoral/Ph.D. theses and Master's dissertations have been supervised. You co-sponsored my habilitation to supervise research (HDR) at INPL, Nancy, in 2007, along with the late Professor Jacques Yvon. You were awarded an honorary Doctorate from INPL, Nancy, France. I remain in admiration of your scientific rigor and meticulous character. Posthumously, I dedicate to you the 2023 international award, “Best Paper Award” for the Contribution and Honorable Achievement in Innovative Research, which I received.

Rest in peace in paradise.

Pr Nkombou
Professor NKOUMBOU CHARLES, Professor of Geosciences

Tiendja, Dear lifelong friend, companion in misery and happiness… We first met in September 1969 in Yaoundé. You came from Manengouba high school in Nkongsamba, and I from Joss high school in Douala. We both headed to the federal University of Cameroon, Faculty of Sciences. Although we didn’t know each other before, we both lived in the same neighborhood in Mokolo. We had the same barber called Bayard and we shared the same class in our first year. We both loved Physics and Chemistry, the same food (local doughnut called ATCHOMBO) and the same passion for our village, BANGOUA.
Our paths diverged in 1973 only to cross again in 1980 in the Association of Bangoua Elites in Yaoundé where I served as President and you as Secretary General. I admired your calmness, your work ethic, and your rigor. For these qualities, you were appointed head of the Bangoua Economic Mutual, which became the Bangoua Mutual Aid Movement, where you served as Director and I as Treasurer.
You were my researcher, and I was your engineer. We consulted each other on everything, and our two families became one. Words fail me to express what I feel after your departure, and I am certain that a part of me has gone with you!
Go, dear friend and brother, and may your soul rest in peace!

Papa Kapto
Your friend, Mbeu Nwémboh Soup KAPTO Etienne

'So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love,' 1 Corinthians 13 verse 13.

Daddy Daniel was inspired by this verse. He was an altruistic, sensitive and peaceful man. How can I describe in a few words what he meant to me and my family? He was an uncle, a god-father, a father, a model on the spiritual, family and professional level. A model who taught me that we could count on God, and succeed through hard work. A humble advisor who knew how to preach by example. Today, it’s all about tears and profound regrets. His departure leaves a huge gap in our hearts, but his legacy will continue to live and shine in each of us.

Thanks for your existence. Thank you too Mrs. Henriette for all the efforts you made to support Dad and accompany him during his tenure on earth. Be strengthened and may the Lord bless you.

Dear friend Daniel,

The late Meffo Njampou and the late Papa Mbeuh Kwokap Félix introduced and guided you to the Nguebdob family in 1970, while you were already in your first year at the Faculty of Sciences in Yaoundé. From this encounter began a special student life relationship between us: three years at Ngoa-Nkélé in the Faculty of Sciences in Yaoundé, then three more years in Toulouse, each in his own field. What beautiful memories of support and advice from you as an elder during those six years. What admiration you had for the late Professor Wandji Roland, who made you his disciple in the field of chemistry and scientific research.

Your determination, focus, and passion for chemistry led you to complete your doctorate in the third cycle before our return to Cameroon. Dear brother-in-law, you became one in 1976 by marrying Henriette, my little sister, further strengthening the bonds that already existed between us. You knew how to make her happy, and together you lovingly supported the children and grandchildren that our Lord granted you.

Dear son-in-law Daniel, I must recall and express here the gratitude of my parents towards you, who adopted you as their son. Your home became the focal point for my other sisters and brother who passed through Yaoundé for their university studies. Finally, our dear Emeritus Professor, the very first in the family, your numerous publications of your research work, and your support in supervising many young people for their theses, testify to the validity of your title and rank.

Go and rest in peace.

Emmanuel Ngansop
